The Tower

The Tower is an experimental audio drama podcast miniseries about friendship, identity, an individual’s place in the world and our relationship with our past, both shared and personal. It is created by Tin Can Audio and is their third podcast after science fiction story Tin Can and horror comedy Middle:Below. The concept of The Tower was to explore where audio drama and music interweave, with a unique score for each episode, as well as experiment with minimal sound design and storytelling methods. All dialogue is conducted via phone calls made by Kiri from the Tower, interspersed with introspective monologues and musical interludes. The series takes influence from audio dramas such as The Far Meridian, Palimpsest, Homecoming and Girl In Space, as well as inspiration from Seven Brief Lessons In Physics by Carlos Rovelli and Tower of Babylon by Ted Chiang. The music features influences from Ryuchi Sakamoto, Pink Floyd, Disasterpeace, Lena Raine and Weyes Blood.
